Style Trend To Cop: Monochromatic dressing
Female style icons have aced one-colored ensembles before. Think Audrey Hepburn in her classic black dress in Breakfast At Tiffany’s or Jackie Kennedy in her pastel outfits, complete with matching hat, shoes and bag. Over the past year, the trend has made its way back. Instead of its origins in simple black and white outfits, it takes on a new, elevated form in striking hues. For example, Michelle Obama’s major fashion moment in plum during US President Joe Biden’s inauguration. Monochrome is now an added styling trick for power outfits for both men, women, and in this case–a queen.
For her monochromatic look, they chose her trademark color red. “A woman—a phenomenal woman must stand tall and take sides,” says bespoke wedding designer Franko Barrio who made the high-waisted pants of Mateo’s ensemble.
The most important thing to remember when it comes to monochromatic dressing in a bold color is to mix textures. “Modern women and versatile clothing are connected to one another because they represent #ADAPTABILITY and their natural skill to adjust with all the changes in the world,” says Zyril Jacinto who made the draped tube top of Mateo’s ensemble which gave the look dimension, and perhaps most importantly, it made it appear intentional.
They paired it off with classic stud earrings from LVNA By Drake Dustin and kept the beauty look minimal to keep it sophisticated.
