You create a different type of bond when you spend 9 months inside someone’s belly. For most of us, it’s called a food baby. But, for those who have chosen to take the next step it’s called motherhood. All jokes aside, the relationship you create with your mom is special no matter how you were brought into this world. Because, being a mom is bigger than all of that. It’s the guidance, patience, support, and love that truly creates a bond like no other. And, no matter what your story is, you have a mother who is there to back you up. She could be your biological mom, a motherly figure, or even a man. Whoever she is in your life, take the time to show your love and appreciation to her this May 9.
Although before you do, get in touch with your nostalgic side first. The best way we can fully appreciate is by reminiscing first. We all have our fair share of stories with mom—that’s why we’ve reached out to your favorite influencers, so we can go down memory lane together. My favorite memory with my mom would definitely be our trip to Paris. It has always been our dream to go to the City of Love and of course, shopping! Our favorite bonding is shopping, dressing up, and eating out! She has always been my “twin” because we really do look a ike and because we have the same taste in almost everything! Thinking about it, she’s the only person I genuinely enjoy doing these things (shopping, dressing up, and eating out) with. I’m so grateful I can vibe with my mom.

There were two instances that I will always remember. The first one was when I was going through my first break-up. I was lost and I felt stuck. My mental health was suffering and I felt like I wasn’t gonna go anywhere in life anymore. The second was when I had to get rushed to the hospital after after having burning stomach pains from an ulcer.
In these two instances, my mom was there to comfort me. She held my hand through the pain I was feeling at the hospital, and she was there to hug and guide me as I talked about my feelings the I felt alone and lost. It’s nice to have her there through it all. My mom and I may not open up often, but during these moments when I felt the most vulnerable, I saw how much she cared for me and I witnessed the power and strength a mother could give to her child. As I grow older, I realize and understand all the lessons my mom has taught me through the years. I don’t say this enough but I love and appreciate my mom more than she knows!

My favorite (memory) would be when she did my scrapbook project for school! I think I was in Grade 2 when I had a project for my Makabayan subject where I was supposed to make a scrapbook about the different types of natural landscapes. Well, I wasn’t as creative back then, so my mom said that she’ll do it for me. Before I went to sleep that night, I texted her about my project. She was working in a call center and was on a graveyard shift. After which, she went home while I was still asleep. And as tired and sleepy as she was, she spent a few hours to make the scrapbook for me. I woke up and saw that she fell asleep still wearing her working clothes. I opened the scrapbook and it was the most beautiful scrapbook ever!

My favorite memory with my mom would be when we travelled to Amanpulo together and we had this prank war. I was swimming with the fish and i was scared of it touching me, then she threw a big loaf of bread at me! This made the fish swarm around me and scaring me even more. So, I got my revenge when we were walking down this path that was full of trees. I took a long dead leaf and placed it on her shoulder—making her think it was a snake. She got pretty scared! We got both of those pranks on video and posted it on our IG stories. It was super funny!

I was very young, probably during my elementary days, when I was able to save up money from gifts and my school allowance! I remember going window shopping with her one time and I saw her looking at this bag that I knew she really liked. I told myself that I would come back to the store when I had enough money to buy the bag, so I could surprise her on her birthday. And, I did! It was priceless seeing her really happy. It was an amazing feeling for me knowing that even when I was younger, I was already able to give back to her. I love her very much and she is the only woman I really look up to. I always tell myself this, but now I want the world to know that I love my parents more than life itself and I owe my success in life to them.

My most favorite memory I have with my mother is all the days she’d be so spontaneous to go out have lunch, watch a movie, and do a little shopping. Even after a little tampuhan, she’d ask me to go watch a movie after! Of all the days that we fight cause of our differences, she still remains to be the strongest woman I’ve ever met. Through the tough times and the good times, she has always seen things in a positive way. She has accepted and supported me all throughout my life.

My favorite memory with my mom would be the time when she finally took the big leap and decided to quit her job in Zamboanga. She moved here in Manila to be with me and to start a new life here. If my mom will come across this letter (I’m 101% she would), I want you to know that there are no words to express how lucky, grateful and happy I am to be your daughter. You shaped me to be the best woman that I am. I know that I will forever be here for you as your bff, bebedoll, and daughter. I love you!

I love everything about my mom, but the best part is when she supports me with what I do no matter what it is. As long as, I’m not trying to harm anyone. Every time I try to make content in a certain location she would send me possible locations or photos of spots that I could potentially use in the future. Sometimes she pulls out items in her closet that she thinks would look good with my outfits. A supportive mom has always been a plus for me and I’m grateful for that.
