Time For A Change: Showbiz Names Who Changed Networks This Pandemic

They say that the only thing constant is change – and the same can definitely be said for the wild world of showbiz.

With the pandemic throwing most of us into a whirlwind, check out these famous names who took a leap of faith and transferred networks during these unprecedented times.

Sunshine Dizon

It was just this May when the Encantadia star packed up her bags and became a certified ABS-CBN artist. She had been with GMA for 25 years prior to leaving, but she shared that there’s no bad blood between her and the network.

She is also looking forward to reunite with her Encantadia sisters who have all moved networks before her.

True enough to the concept of a healthy change, she referred to her switch as a “a new season in my life, a new chapter in my career.”

Janine Gutierrez

Janine rocked the young showbiz world when she first appeared in ASAP Natin ‘To as a Kapuso-turned-Kapamilya just this January 2021. Discussing the platform change, she shared that “I’m truly looking forward to this New Year and I’m in a new home. It’s definitely a fresh start.”

Billy Crawford

After the height of the ABS-CBN shutdown, the father of one and celebrated dancer signed onto TV5 to host the network’s noontime variety show Lunch Out Loud and The Masked Singer to continue to provide for his family.

Richard Yap

After 10 years with ABS-CBN, Yap departed the network after receiving as the “practical” means to continue his thriving career.

“Others are still starting out, while GMA does everything by itself, so it’s the practical choice,” he had shared.

Maja Salvador

Perhaps one of the most ambitious move in recent month is Maja Salvador’s, as she developed her own talent management company, Crown Artist Entertainment, amid the pandemic.

Adding to the list of brave moves, she also departed from an 18-year relationship with Star Magic to go on and star in TV5’s Sunday Noontime Live and Niña Nińo.
