Louis Vuitton Dreams Of A Beautiful Utopia With Their Women’s Cruise 2022 Show

Louis Vuitton takes us on a trip with their Women’s Cruise 2022 show by Nicholas Ghequière.

After the much talked about collaboration with Fornasetti for the Fall/Winter 2021 runway, Nicholas Ghesquière is back with his new Louis Vuitton Women’s Cruise 2022 Collection. Premiered last night at 8PM, the collection was presented with a short film, shot at Axe Majeur—a monumental masterpiece by the late Israeli artist Dani Karavan.

Known for his artistic views and creative designs, Ghesquière delivers in his newest collection that boasts of vibrant colors, unique prints, dynamic silhouettes, and oversized chains. Describing the new collection, Ghesquière shares, “It’s a very optimistic, joyful collection. There’s a jubilance to it.”, reflecting his hopefulness and excitement as normalcy slowly comes back (now that more people are getting vaccinated), and with it, the art of getting ready and dressing up.

The ready-to-wear collection also features eye-catching accessories; iconic Louis Vuitton handbag staples such as Dauphine, Coussin and Twist—were accentuated by oversized chains, lined with vibrant hues such as pink, blue, and green. Color-blocked boots and footwear in different styles were also presented during the show.

Inspired by utopia, the models strutted their way through the sculpture park starting from the “Ile Astronomique” to “Le Douze Colonnes” and “Le Jardin des Droits de I’Homme”, and finally “La Passerelle”.
