Too Superstitious In Love? This New Show Could Be For You

It’s not just you: the dating world is a total mess nowadays. With all the ghosting, breadcrumbing, and all the other messy -ings, people clinging to their own beliefs is perfectly normal.

While some like to depend on their own intuition, there’s also the rise of tarot cards, astrology, and other superstitious beliefs to keep afloat – that’s where WeTV’s newest series starring Sue Ramirez, JC Santos, and JC De Vera comes in.

Boyfriend #13 sees indie darling Sue play Kim, a twentysomething modern girl with old school beliefs. Her every move is calculated to deliberately avoid misfortune and ensure that her life is as close to perfect as possible by letting her many superstitions and pamahiins guide her way.

She also regularly reads her daily horoscope, wears lucky charms to ward off bad luck, and consults fortune tellers to decide her happiness. Sounds familiar? Well, if the shoe fits.

Her life is then turned upside down when she meets Don (De Vera). While all signs point to him being ‘The One’, him being her 13th boyfriend tests Kim’s faith in fate and she assigns her workmate Bob (Santos) to save the day.

Directed by Filipino comedic legend John Lapus, Boyfriend #13 is set to drop as a WeTV Original series this June.

The WeTV app is available on the Apple app store and Google Play. A monthly subscription rings in at P99, quarterly at P269, and an annual subscription for P999.
