‘A Moment to Remember’: What Is The New Korean-inspired Bea-Alden Movie About?

It’s official: Bea Alonzo has now officially signed with GMA-7. With her new role, we take a look into her first project as a member of the network, and how they’ll utilize the high-profile celebrity on screen.

Her first project sees Bea opposite Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards in a local adaptation of the 2006 Korean film A Moment To Remember. The movie is originally based on the 2001 Japanese drama Pure Soul.

Presented by Viva Films, GMA Pictures, and APT Entertainment, the story follows the romantic story of a typical girl-meets-boy courtship, but a rare disease soon tests their faith.

IMDb describes the film as a “A young couple’s enduring love is tested when 27-year-old Su-jin is diagnosed with a rare form of Alzheimer’s disease.” Think, The Vow with Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, but with more layers to the story.

The Korean film sees actors Son Ye-jin and Jung Woo-sung portraying the roles soon to be filled by Bea and Alden.

With Alden already proving that he’s got the acting chops to portray multi-layered roles such as Ethan in the Cathy Garcia-Molina hit Hello, Love, Goodbye, their dynamic pairing will surely be a sight to see for fans.

Actress Son Ye-jin also bagged the Best Actress award at the 15th China Golden Rooster Award and Hundred Flowers Film Festival for her performance, this could spell a new hit for the award-winning Bea Alonzo.

“She became prepared with her black notebook and asked questions about the role and how best to portray it. In fairness, she did her assignment studying the character,” screenwriter Mel del Rosario once shared regarding Bea’s preparation.
