The State of the Nation Address has been delivered by the President of the Philippines since 1935. During the SONA, the citizens and the congress get a report on, as the name goes, the state of the nation. We get updates on government campaigns, new infrastructure, upcoming events, and the likes. Aside from this, we also get a preview of what the future looks like, as per the encouraging words of the President. Supposedly, both the Congress of the Philippines and the President must be in attendance during the SONA, but since we’re currently facing a global pandemic many attendees opted to stay in. Despite this big change, attendees of the SONA did not let the opportunity of dressing up pass away. Marga Nograles
Owner of Kayo Modern Mindanao, Marga Nograles, was in attendance of the State of the Nation Address with her husband Karlo Nograles, lawyer and Cabinet Secretary. She wore a Kaayo mixed print Inaul terno with Tboli hand beading. She topped off the look with a brooch from Riqueza.

Len Alonte
Congresswoman, Marlyn Alonte Naguiat, donned a beautiful white jumpsuit with butterfly sleeves by Michael Leyva. As a member of the Congress, Alonte represented the lone legislative district of Binan City in Laguna.

Em Aglipay Villar
Justice Undersecretary, Em Aglipay Villar, attended the SONA with her husband, Public Works and Highways Secretary, Mark Villar. She wore a black and nude Terno with inverted butterfly sleeves by Ivarluski Aseron. Her hair and makeup was done by Patty Inojales.

Leni Robredo
Vice President, Leni Robredo, attended the 2021 State of the Nation Address via video call. She propped up her laptop beside her couch and sat in a teal gown by Michael Leyva. The sleeves of the gown were embellished with a native pattern.

Marisol Castillo Aragones
Sol Aragones has been the representative of Laguna’s 3rd district since 2013. This year’s SONA 2021 will be her last, so she pulled off all the stops with an eye-catching gown by Michael Leyva. She also gave a farewell speech and posted it on her Instagram.
