Louis Vuitton Artycapucines 2021 Collection Celebrates Art And Fashion

Louis Vuitton once again takes works of art to a new level with the 2021 Artycapucines collection.

Get your calendars set for October, as the Louis Vuitton 2021 Artycapucines collection is set for release. Back on its third year, the 2021 collection sees six internationally acclaimed artists: Gregor Hildebrandt, Donna Huanca, Huang Yuxing, Vik Muniz, Paola Pivi, and Zeng Fanzhi,  bring their own unique reinterpretation on the Capucines bag, a Louis Vuitton classic. These artist will be joining the likes of Henry Taylor, Beatriz Milhazes, Urs Fischer, Zhao Zhao, Jean-Michael Othoniel, and Tschabalala Self, who have had their own designs for Artycapucines.

The iconic silhouette was named after Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, the Parisian street where Louis Vuitton opened his first store in 1854. With such a historical moment for the fashion house, the Capucines proves its ability to inspire creativity—from its wearer to contemporary artists from around the world.

Here’s your first look at the designs for this year’s Artycapucines collection:

Gregor Hildebrandt

It’s all about black and white for German artist Gregor Hildebrandt. He used black and white screen-printed leather, and the Louis Vuitton signature inlaid with vinyl records.

Donna Huanca

Artist Donna Huanca went for a different approach, with her design featuring hand-painted embroidery, piercing rings, and the silver top handle.

Huang Yuxing

A vibrant and colorful landscape is what welcomes you with Huang Yuxing’s take on the Capucines. Beautifully embroidered, it’s lined with Barbie pink leather, and features a rainbow coloured Louis Vuitton signature.

Vik Muniz

Vik Muniz shows his playful side with his Capucines. Showcasing a joyful design with its effervescent effect, this bag will definitely turn heads.

Paola Pivi

Featuring a jaguar and rich gold-leaf gliding, Paola Pivi is all about elegance and fierce for her design. This Capucines also has two mini pockets at the front, giving you extra space for your essentials.

Zeng Fanzhi

Inspired by another artist, Zeng Fanzhi gives her own twist on Van Gogh’s self-portrait on the Capucines. It’s brought to life by vibrant colors, and over 70,000 embroidery stitches.

Each bag in the third Artycapucines Collection will be available in a limited edition of 200 and released in stores worldwide at the end of October 2021.
