GUESS’s global imprint on fashion has always been an celebrated presence, and this year is no different. With the 2021 GUESS Originals Summer Games collection leveraging a host of memorable graphics from the iconic 1989 GUESS Worldwide collection, GUESS Originals shows once again that when it comes to pulling out timely pieces filled with nostalgia, only one trademark does it best. The 48-style collection consisting of various apparel and lifestyle accessories arrived just last August 28, 2021, and we’re here to get in on all of the vintage action.

With skateboarding finally becoming an official Olympic event for the first time in the 2021 games, this year’s campaign was shot by world-renowned skate photographer, Atiba Jefferson, and directed and styled by GUESS Originals Brand Director, Nicolai Marciano. Featuring a who’s who of stand-out skaters such as Alex Midler, Boo Johnson, Zach Saraceno, Ish Cepeda, Briana King, Dayana Young, and Illegal Civ’s Nico Hiraga who recently starred in the skate film, North Hollywood, GUESS Originals continues to impress eyes and ears when it comes to showcasing its eye-catching pieces into a timely medium.
Continuing the throwback vibe, the Summer GUESS Originals Collection for both men and women takes inspiration from original GUESS heritage graphics refitted with a modernized twist. Enzyme washes and soft prints were primary choices in attempting to create the authentic American Sportswear heritage, while the chosen styles and graphics provided thoughtful visuals that go beyond paying homage to the brand’s history as a global brand. Most importantly, the collection highlights the human need to establish unity and peace amongst all; a warm form of togetherness that allows us to thrive together.
The men’s capsule offers an array of striped and solid long and short-sleeve tees, sweatshirts as well as a satin bomber and denim jacket, while the women’s capsule incorporates a selection of cotton dresses, crop tops, bodysuits, biker shorts as well as a denim vest and shorts. The overall collection features the classic Americana red, white, and blue color tones and are balanced out by solid colors including black, gray, orange, and yellow.
