Kim Seon Ho Might Bounce Back Sooner Than Expected

Looks like Kim Seon Ho is slowly getting back on track as he was reportedly remains casted in upcoming film with Go Ara

It was a rough month for Korean actor Kim Seon Ho since the controversy concerning about him and his ex-girlfriend, Choi Young Ah, who was a former reporter, surfaced. Many endorsement deals and upcoming films have replaced the beleaguered actor already, but there’s one movie that could save his career.

Amidst all the chaos surrounding the beloved actor’s career and personal life, a production staff from one of his supposedly upcoming film, Sad Tropics, the film about a Filipino-Korean boxer, said that they’re not cancelling the film nor changing the actors, but will only delay the production. It seems that the doors are not completely closed for Kim Seon Ho yet as the truth is slowly coming into light.

The false claims

Earlier this day, Korean a entertainment website translated a long exchange of messages between Kim Seon Ho and Choi Young Ah, and his close friend tagged as “A.” In the series of conversations we could see two sides of the story, as the first one was from the apology message of Choi Young Ah, and the other one was Kim Seon Ho’s relating those messages to his close friend A. In the exchange of messages it seem to suggest that Choi Young Ah lied to Kim Seon Ho many times and perhaps, even to the public.

Her claim that Seon Ho forced her to abort their baby was also not true, according to Kim Seon Ho’s friend named “B” who narrated a different story. On July 24, Choi Young Ah called Kim Seon Ho while crying and also sent him a text. According to B, Kim Seon Ho allegedly told her , “It’s a blessing, so don’t cry.” B explained, “At first, he congratulated her saying it’s a good thing. I think he was honestly scared though. He really thought a lot about it. Unfortunately, the two agreed to let the baby go. And he carefully requested something from me.” In the narration of B, the abortion was a mutual decision between the two. With all these new reports coming in, it’s appearing as though Choi Young Ah is not a reliable narrator.

Many endorsement deals backed out from their contract with the actor, not entirely because of the controversy, but because of how he addressed the issue. A brand representative from one of the labels revealed that no promotions were taken down solely due to the controversial revelation, but they blame the actor’s lack of “professionalism” and “maturity.” The unnamed representative told Sports Chosun, a Korean news site, “When the scandal broke, we tried to get in touch with him or his agency the whole day. We needed answers but it had been impossible to get a hold of him. We don’t understand why he decided to ghost us, too. He should have explained the situation and let us handle it with him. Only had he been up front, we wouldn’t have had to cut ties with him.”

In defense to Kim Seon Ho’s brief statement about the matter, his friend B said,

Dispatch’s report ended with a statement from B. He said, “Seon Ho hyung said this to me. Since it was true that he let go of his child… Since he once loved her, he tried to understand. And that he didn’t want to fight about his private life in front of the whole nation. So he said that instead of taking action, he apologized. Seon Ho hyung is that kind of person. He was in a normal relationship just like anyone else. He never tried to hide Young Ah noona. I’m a witness.”

A source from Kim Seon Ho’s agency SALT Entertainment stated in response with recent report saying, “We have nothing to say. We apologize.”
