FIlipino stand-up comedian Jo Koy (real name Joseph Glenn Herbert) is set to star in a new sitcom about the ups and downs of being a minor and father living in America.
Per US entertainment news site The Hollywood Reporter, Josep is described as a “single-cam comedy following Josep, a hard-working nurse trying to navigate dating, fatherhood, and the hilarious complications caused by his strong-willed Filipino mother moving in with him.”
The series will also be helmed by Young Sheldon director, Steve Joe.
Meanwhile, the 49-year old comedian also broke the news via Instagram, sharing that he’s “excited to show you all what we’re working on over at @abcnetwork #filipinofamily.”
Jo Koy skyrocketed to stardom through his series of stand-ups shows chronicling his life as a Filipino, sprinkled with viral impersonations of his mother raising him through the years.
He’s since released 4 Netflix specials and written an autobiography titled My Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo.
